Standard features put Spectra and Spectra5 ahead of the rest.Compact entry offers class-leading safety, spaciousness.Just wanted to make sure on changing the fluid as I have seen GM etc after 100,000 miles of not changing have more neutrals :-( after fresh fluid/filter change my guess the metallic grit was helping the worn clutch plates bite.Award-Winning Spectra Models Boast Impressive Fuel Economy 158,000 easy miles wife drives it work and on Hiway trips here in Texas. My trans fluid is not burnt (smell test) nor black but not pink so somewhere in between a very light tan/pink on white paper towel and no fine grit so I ordered KIA filter/gasket and 5 qts KIA fluid I will change it this week end.several members here posted drain away with the the color and mileage and it's never over heated. No oil or coolant leaks to degrade the belt and auto trans this engine has been driven easy. Was not going for KIA wanting $500.00 parts and labor every 60,000 miles. I have changed the timing belt, water pump with a Gates kit at 110,000 miles and the old belt still looked ok. We decided to keep the Spectra (she is about to retire like me) as we purchased it new after reading all the different owners posting 200,000 plus miles on the engine and auto trans if serviced correctly not not selling or trading it in. My wife starts stops the engine 4 to 6 times a day during a work week. Have you replaced the starter motor in your 2008 with 200K miles? My GM starters have failed every 85,000 or so YMMV depending on usage daily in town vs a highway use. So I have two questions about the stater and changing auto trans fluid/filter.ĮDIT read you next post on my starter thread Thank You. So yes I have had the rear hub off.I turned it by hand and it felt smooth not loose etc But I will take your advice, I will order both rear bearings and replace them. When I used my torque wrench to remove the rear wheels for a brake job all the studs in that rear wheel snapped off when trying to remove them and yes I was turning counter clock wise rotor was discolored and was worn thin at the top had a hard time removing the caliper. My guess the lug studs were weakened from the excessive heat. I had to replace the lug studs on right rear (removed the hub and used a punch with the hub in my bench vise) along with rotor and pads after my wife drove it with rear bake on slightly. Imported from Detroit and built with crap. A Chrysler tech on YouTube says to quieten these motors you need to tear down the head, cam shafts, and replace the hydraulic lifters. I rebuilt a 2016 Chrysler 200s this last year and it now has 47k miles and the 4 cyl engine is NOISY. These cars are simple to work on and made well. No more noisy exhaust.īrakes (rotors and pads) are available cheap at and the job is not hard if you replaced brakes before. add the "U" clamps and tighten them down. Of the coupler and slide them over the exhaust pipe ends. You cut out the bad coupler (close to the ends), put an adaptor on each end ![]() The flexible coupler is another item that fails and it can be replaced with one off of ebay with two "2 1/8th" pipe adaptors and four "2 1/8th" "U" clamps available at your local AutoZone. and an electric Harbor Freight impact tool ($40 on sale) and about 15~30 minutes a side. To replace them requires a jack, stands, a 32mm socket, a 14mm and 21mm socket. They are only $22 each with shipping on Ebay. I would suggest replacing the rear wheel bearings at your mileage. My daughter-in-laws 2008 Spectra I got with 167k miles on it and she just turned 200k on it.
